Rizo-L贸pez Foods Recalls Over 60 Dairy Products Nationwide due to Listeria Outbreak Linked to Cheese and Yogurt

Rizo-L贸pez Foods, a dairy company based in California, is voluntarily recalling over 60 of its products, including cheeses, yogurts, and sour creams, following an outbreak of Listeria. This recall affects products sold nationwide.

Products involved in the recall include various cheeses such as Panela, Ricotta, Cotija, Oaxaca, and Queso Fresco among others. The recall comes after an investigation by federal health officials linked the company’s dairy products, including Queso Fresco and Cotija cheese, to a deadly Listeria outbreak that has spanned over a decade.

Listeria is a bacterium that causes a serious infection, especially in individuals with a weakened immune system. Consumption of products contaminated with Listeria poses serious health risks and may lead to bacterial gastroenteritis or other complications.

The recall is a proactive measure by Rizo-L贸pez Foods to ensure consumer safety. The CDC and FDA are continuing to closely monitor the situation and are urging consumers who have purchased any of the recalled products to avoid consumption and dispose of the products immediately.
