First Glimpse of ‘The Crow’ Remake: Bill Skarsgård Steps into Iconic Role, Aims to Captivate New Generation

Lionsgate has revealed the first trailer for Rupert Sanders’ remake of “The Crow”, with actor Bill Skarsgård stepping into the shoes of the iconic antihero, Eric Draven, originally portrayed by the late Brandon Lee. Skarsgård expressed his devotion to the role as well as the reimagination of the story by the director. The 1994 original attained cult status, made infamous by Lee’s tragic on-set death.

This reboot features alternative R&B artist FKA Twigs as Shelly Webster, Eric’s lover. Skarsgård’s Eric Draven is a vengeful entity resurrected from the dead, and his mission is to right the wrongs associated with his and his fiancee’s death.

This eagerly-awaited movie, a new spin on the graphic novel, reinterprets the narrative of the classic anti-superhero. Anticipation builds as audiences count down to the film’s theatrical release on June 7. With Skarsgård’s unique portrayal and Sanders’ novel perspective, this remake seeks to popularise “The Crow” amongst a new generation.
