The Tokyo Marathon, along with the Fukuoka International Marathon last December and the Osaka Marathon this February, is a designated race to decide the Japanese male representatives, foreseeing a harsh battle as the final competition. This year’s race will be held on March 3rd, with detailed weather forecasts taking into account the effects of urban buildings and such being provided.

The leading athletes are aiming to break the Japanese record of 2 hours 4 minutes 56 seconds, with particular attention being paid to the challenge of athletes who had a tough battle at the Tokyo Marathon 2021 during the Olympic streak.

In advance of hosting the Tokyo Marathon 2024, information about regulations on the roads around the start point in front of the Metropolitan Government Building, the finish point in front of Tokyo Station, and the surrounding areas has been provided. For the event in which about 38,000 citizen runners and participants from overseas gather, safe hosting and smooth operation are required.
