Frank Reich, former head coach of the Carolina Panthers, has been fired following a disappointing 1-10 start to his maiden season. NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom confirmed the news, highlighting that this marks the second-shortest NFL head-coaching tenure in history. The decision to dismiss Reich makes the Panthers the second NFL team to fire its head coach during the season, following a similar action by the Raiders with Josh McDaniels.

To fill the abrupt void, the team has confirmed that Special teams coordinator Chris Tabor will step in as the interim head coach for the rest of the season. Tabor’s appointment sees a second successive season where Atlanta will square off against an interim Panthers head coach. Additionally, seasoned coach Jim Caldwell will be working closely with the offensive side of the team, potentially offering a fresh perspective and strategic input to improve the team’s current record.
